Välkommen

Come and see our Sweden

I have been an LPGA member since 2010, and for many of those seasons my husband, Daniel, carried my bag. Wherever we went, friends asked us the same question: what is it about Sweden?

We spend June to September in Stockholm. If you’re coming over to play, this is how we’d like to see you: you book your own flights, hotel and tee times, and we point you to the courses and the hotel we’d choose ourselves. Then you add the time with me that you actually want. A round together. A morning clinic. A sit-down in the clubhouse about life on tour. Dinner, if the week allows. Daniel runs the planning, so he’s the one who’ll answer your email.

We’re not a tour operator, and we don’t sell a packaged week. There’s no fixed departure, no set group size and no hotel or green fee on our invoice. You pay the clubs and the hotel directly. You pay us for the pro experiences you choose.

We’re not here to tell you Stockholm is St Andrews. Scotland and Ireland are golf’s heartland. What we offer is different: time with a major champion, long Nordic summer evenings, and a capital city on the water.

Pernilla & Daniel

  1. Book your own flights, hotel and tee times.

We’ll point you to our favorites: the courses below, and a waterfront hotel we know well. You book and pay for them directly.

  2. Choose your pro experiences.

Pick from the menu and email us your dates. Daniel confirms what Pernilla can do that week, and the price.

  3. Play Sweden with a major champion.

We meet you at the club. The rest of the trip is yours to shape.

Who we are

A major champion in Stockholm

Major champion

Pernilla Lindberg

Pernilla was born in 1986 in Bollnäs, in the province of Hälsingland, and grew up as an alpine ski racer. She started golf at the age of four, introduced by her father Jan, a leading player at Bollnäs Golf Club. In 2003 she won the Junior Solheim Cup with Europe. In 2008 she won the Espirito Santo Trophy (the World Amateur Team Championship) with Sweden. At Oklahoma State University she was a three-time All-American.

She joined the LPGA Tour in 2010 and is still a member, and she represented Sweden at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. She has stepped back from a full schedule but plays the Chevron Championship (formerly the ANA Inspiration) every year as a past champion, and she commentates the women’s majors for Viaplay.

“I can’t believe that I can call myself a major champion.”Pernilla, Rancho Mirage, April 2018 (AP)

Her first professional win was a major. At the 2018 ANA Inspiration, a major-record eight sudden-death holes over two days ended on Monday morning with a 30-foot birdie putt to beat Inbee Park. Then came the traditional leap into Poppie’s Pond, with her parents and her caddie, Daniel.

Courses we recommend

These are the courses we’d send a friend to: two Golf Digest Continental Europe top-20 courses, a royal club beside a UNESCO World Heritage palace, and a Stockholm classic founded in 1904. You book the tee time yourself and pay the club directly. We haven’t listed green fees, because they change and the club’s own site is the right place to check.

Aerial view of the Stadium Course at Bro Hof Slott beside Lake Mälaren

Upplands-Bro · Robert Trent Jones Jr. · Opened 2007

Bro Hof Slott, Stadium Course

Sweden’s top-ranked course, and #5 in Golf Digest’s 2026 ranking of Continental Europe’s best. At 8,046 yards from the back it is one of the longest courses in Europe, with Lake Mälaren in play throughout. It hosted the Scandinavian Masters on the European Tour several times between 2010 and 2016.

Our first choice for a round with Pernilla. Book at brohofslott.com.

The Castle Course at Bro Hof Slott, running through forest and rock

Upplands-Bro · Robert Trent Jones Jr. · Opened 2009

Bro Hof Slott, Castle Course

The estate’s second course runs inland through forest and rock, a very different test from the Stadium. Arriving through the estate gates to the castle clubhouse is one of Swedish golf’s great first impressions.

The club offers a same-day Stadium and Castle combination if you want both. You arrange it with Bro Hof, and carts can be booked there too.

Ullna Golf & Country Club on the shore of Lake Ullna

Åkersberga · Sven Tumba 1981 · Jack Nicklaus 2013

Ullna Golf & Country Club

#19 in Golf Digest’s 2026 Continental Europe ranking. Set on Lake Ullna, 20 km north of Stockholm, Ullna has a tournament history few Nordic clubs can match. It hosted the Scandinavian Enterprise Open (1983–87), the 1988 Eisenhower Trophy and the SAS Invitational (1998–2001), whose fields included Tiger Woods. Annika Sörenstam won the Ladies European Tour’s HP Open here in 2004, and the club hosted the DP World Tour’s Scandinavian Mixed in 2023.

Club maximum handicap: 24 men, 30 women. A natural morning for the clinic, if you book one. ullnagolf.se

Aerial view of Royal Drottningholm Golf Club on Lovön island

Lovön island · Ekerö

Royal Drottningholm Golf Club

Kungliga Drottningholms Golfklubb sits on Lovön, the island that is home to Drottningholm Palace. The palace has been the residence of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia since 1981, and the Royal Domain of Drottningholm has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991. The club hosted the Scandinavian Masters in 1991 and 1994.

The course is laid out on crown land, and King Gustaf VI Adolf inaugurated it in 1959. He was 77 and declined the opening drive, then changed his mind, borrowed a sweater and postponed dinner to play some late-afternoon golf. The club says the scorecard still hangs in the clubhouse.

Closed to play on Monday mornings. The palace and gardens are an easy visit for anyone not playing. kdrgk.se

Stockholms Golfklubb parkland course with tall pines

Stockholms Golfklubb

Sweden’s second-oldest golf club, rich in tradition and just minutes from the city. Classic parkland meets modern strategic touches, with tall pines and views back toward Stockholm and the water.

A true walking course: trolleys are free, and carts are available only with a medical certificate. Closed to play on Tuesday mornings. stockholmsgolfklubb.se

Hotel Diplomat on Strandvägen, and a guest room.

Where to stay · our recommendation

Hotel Diplomat, Strandvägen

An Art Nouveau palace on Stockholm’s grandest waterfront boulevard, welcoming guests since 1911. It is the first hotel in the family-owned Diplomat Collection, and Condé Nast Traveler readers have named it one of the best hotels in their “Rest of Europe” category. Djurgården’s parks and museums, the boutiques around Norrmalmstorg and the restaurants of Stureplan are all within walking distance.

It’s the hotel we recommend to friends, and the courses are a straightforward drive from Strandvägen. You book it yourself at diplomathotel.com; we don’t hold rooms.

An idea, not a package

A sample week you can copy

One way to shape six nights if you’re starting from scratch. Change anything. The pro experiences in bold are optional, and only happen if you book them with us.

  1. Day 1, Arrive

Land at Stockholm Arlanda and make your own way to the hotel. Walk Strandvägen. Dinner wherever you like.

  2. Day 2, Ullna

Book a morning tee time. If you’ve added them, this is a natural day for the morning clinic before you play, and Inside the Ropes with Pernilla over a drink in the clubhouse afterwards. The club is about 20 km north of the city.

  3. Day 3, Royal Drottningholm

Parkland golf on Lovön, then the palace and gardens for anyone who wants them. Evening: Pro Night, a hosted dinner in the city with Pernilla, if you’ve asked for it.

  4. Day 4, Bro Hof Slott

The Stadium Course, and the Castle Course the same day if you want 36. Our first choice for a round with Pernilla. You book both tee times, and any carts, with the club.

  5. Day 5, A day off the course

Gamla Stan, the Vasa Museum, a spa, or Östermalms Saluhall. See “Ideas for your week” if you want something booked ahead. Those are arranged by you, not by us.

  6. Day 6, Stockholms Golfklubb, then home

A late tee time if you want one more round, on a walking course a short drive from town. Fly home the next morning, or carry on to one of the Nordic extensions.

Royal Drottningholm is closed to play on Monday mornings, and Stockholms Golfklubb on Tuesday mornings. Build the week around that.

When to come

We’re in Stockholm from June to September, which is when the golf is at its best. Around midsummer the city has more than 18 hours of daylight, with sunset after 10pm. Pernilla isn’t available during the weeks of the women’s majors, which she commentates for Viaplay.

Getting here

SAS flies nonstop between Newark and Stockholm Arlanda, and Delta flies nonstop from New York JFK in season. The flight takes about 8–9 hours, based on 2026 schedules. From the airport you make your own way into the city: Arlanda Express is the fast train, and taxis are easy to find.

Money

Sweden uses the krona (SEK), and cards are accepted almost everywhere. Hotel, green fees and restaurants are paid by you, to those businesses. Pro Night is the exception: we host it, for one fee. Pro experience prices are confirmed by email when you inquire.

Why Sweden

Sweden has produced major champions in both the men’s and the women’s game, Pernilla among them. Swedish golf clubs counted a record 588,069 memberships in 2025, with junior memberships up 18.5%, and the country has about 450 courses.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Do you book hotels or golf?

No. We recommend the courses and a hotel, and you book them yourself, directly with the club or the hotel. We don’t book flights, transfers or restaurants either. The only thing we sell is the pro experiences on the menu.

What does a pro experience cost?

We confirm prices for your dates. Email us your dates and the experiences you want and we’ll send a price. Pro Night is one fee, with the dinner included. Tour star experiences are priced on request, because they depend on who is available.

Can a partner join?

Yes. A non-golfer is welcome at Pro Night, our hosted dinner, and at a clinic if they’d like a club in their hands. Palace, museum and archipelago days need no handicap at all.

What handicap do I need?

It depends on the club. Ullna Golf & Country Club has a maximum handicap of 24 for men and 30 for women, and other clubs set their own visitor rules. Tell us your handicap index when you inquire and we’ll say which of the recommended courses suit your group.

Can you arrange a top tour pro?

Sometimes, by arrangement, and only once that professional has agreed. We won’t put a name in front of you until we have a yes. Price on request.

When are you available?

We’re in Stockholm from June to September. Pernilla isn’t available during the weeks of the women’s majors, which she commentates for Viaplay, and she plays the Chevron Championship (formerly the ANA Inspiration) every year as a past champion. Every experience is subject to availability.

Do we walk, or can we take a cart?

Stockholms Golfklubb is a true walking course: trolleys are free, and carts are available only with a medical certificate. Other clubs, including Bro Hof, hire carts. You arrange that with the club; we don’t promise carts, caddies or meals at any course.

What will the weather be like?

Swedish golf is at its best from June to August. Around midsummer Stockholm has more than 18 hours of daylight, with sunset after 10pm. July is Stockholm’s warmest month, with typical daytime highs of about 20–22°C (68–72°F) from June to August and cool evenings of around 10–12°C (50–54°F), based on SMHI’s 1991–2020 climate normals. July and August are also the wettest months, so pack layers and rain gear.

How far ahead should we write?

As soon as you have rough dates. Summer tee sheets at these clubs are busy with members, Royal Drottningholm opens guest times only a few days ahead, and Pernilla’s weeks are planned around her commentary schedule.
